About Home Print Kit

Free tools for printing big things at home.

Home Print Kit makes free tools for printing things at home that usually need a print shop: big posters from ordinary paper, and more to come. It is a small independent project run from Spain by a photographer and designer who prints a lot at home.

Most poster sites ask you to upload your pictures to their servers, and some add watermarks or limits. These tools do the work inside your browser instead. Your pictures stay on your device, the PDF is ready in seconds, and there is nothing to sign up for.

How the poster maker works

It measures the printable area of the paper you choose, subtracts the margin and the overlap, and works out how many sheets the poster needs across and down. Each sheet gets its slice of the picture at up to 150 pixels per inch, or vector dots for halftone posters, with cut marks and labels in the margin. The size tables in the guides are calculated with the same rules, so they match what you print.

PDFs are built with jsPDF (MIT license). The sample pictures were made for this site.
